About this event

Shrewsbury School Community Choir presents a performance of Brahms’ choral masterpiece ‘A German Requiem’. Written after the death of his mother, the powerful message of comfort and consolation for those who live on is found in the Lutheran texts that Brahms chose. The magnificent Shrewsbury Abbey is the perfect setting for the soaring lyrical melodies and the positivity of the message.

In 2024, the Choir is supporting three local charities and this concert will raise money for Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Shrewsbury Foodbank and PALZ (a recently founded, local Alzheimer’s charity).

Shrewsbury School Community Choir are conducted by Richard Robbins: Head of Choral Singing at Shrewsbury School.
