About this event
Get into the holiday spirit with a fun and creative Christmas table decoration project! In this workshop, you’ll craft a stunning optical illusion Christmas Tree table runner, with the option to make matching placemats for a coordinated festive look.
Each patchwork tree can be customized with your own choice of colours, making every piece truly unique. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced patchworker, this is the perfect project to explore your creativity.
You’ll also learn the all-in-one backing and binding technique, making your creation beautifully finished and ready to display in time for Christmas.
Measuring approximately 40” x 12” (100cm x 30cm), this runner is perfect for the festive season — but can easily be adapted for any time of year.
Skill level : Basic sewing machine skills required.
You will need:
- Patchwork cotton: 10 cm per tree (6 trees total — use one colour or mix up to 6 different colours for variety) → 60 cm total
- Border: 25 cm plain cotton
- Backing: ½ metre plain or patterned cotton
- Batting: 50 cm
- Thread: Matching colour to complement your fabrics
Janome sewing machines will be provided on the day along with a hot drink. You will also receive a 10% discount card to use in-store.
