About this event

Join renowned local art historian Gareth Williams, Curator and Head of Learning to the Weston Park Foundation, for a talk that asks what was so grand about the Grand Tour and how did this extraordinary gap year have such a lasting impact on the people that did it, their collections and on Britain’s great country houses?

A focus on the highlife, fun and hardships of travel for the eighteenth and early nineteenth century European traveller. The talk is illustrated by Shropshire’s own Grand Tourists.
