The Hempolics

The Hempolics return to Theatre Severn in collaboration with SYGigs following their sell out show in 2018...

Formed in 2009 by producer/engineer Grippa Laybourne, The Hempolics are out to put those organic rootsy vibes back into music; with their fat radio friendly hooks, bumping soundsystem bass and a wanderlusty, ineffably real sound of their own.

With two critically acclaimed albums under their belt, Kiss, Cuddle & Torture Volumes 1 and 2 and numerous single releases, The Hempolics have created an infectious mash-up of Reggae, Electro, Hip-Hop, Soul, Rock and Pop. The band have an illustrious list of supporters from across the world of music and radio, with likes of Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Toddla T, Paolo Nutini, David Rodigan & Don Letts to name just a few.

The band will be showcasing new songs from their forthcoming album KTC3 as well as playing a selection of old favourites from their fine back catalog.

Support for the evening comes from Hayden Taylor, who has DJ’ed all over the country in the last twenty-five years carrying his trusty box of Reggae 45’s, Spinnin’ records at The Night Owl Birmingham, Camp Bestival, The Big Chill and various Modcast events.
