Job Information
Architectural Assistants, Part I and Part II, are being sought to join a busy Shrewsbury town centre practice specialising in Historic Building work and Residential projects.
The role will offer a broad exposure to many aspects of project design and delivery, including participation in developing design concepts, creating presentation materials, working on construction documents, and assisting in construction administration.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team to prepare and develop technical documents across a range of project types and scale
- Develop solutions to design assignments and technical problems
- Independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs
- Perform analysis of design, planning and occupancy studies and design layouts
- Prepare project specifications, compiling and analysing relevant data
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Part I position – Honours Degree in architecture (England) or Ordinary Degree (Scotland), followed by 1 year out in practice under the guidance of an architect
- Part II position - Masters, Diploma or BArch (depending on the individual school) taught in university for 2 to 3 years, followed by a further year in practice
- Exceptional design skills
- Good knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD (2D / 3D), SketchUp, Photoshop, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to deliver work to a high standard, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects
