Commonwealth Day 2016

The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Miles Kenny, will be raising the Commonwealth Flag at the Guildhall at on Monday 14th March in celebration of Commonwealth Day 2016.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and are asked to gather at the flagpole to the front of the building where the flag will be raised at 8am.

Raising of the Commonwealth Flag planned on Shirehall on 14th March

On Monday 14th March 2016 at 10am the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Colonel Edmund Thewles, and the chief executive of Shropshire Council, Clive Wright, will raise the Commonwealth Flag during a ceremony at Shirehall in Shrewsbury. Members of the public are welcome to observe the raising of the Commonwealth Flag.

A major new exhibition telling the untold story of one of the great female artists of the early twentieth century comes to Shrewsbury this autumn.

Children celebrate success of Connect-Create music project at special event

The final performance of the Connect-Create music project took place at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn on Tuesday 1st March 2016, featuring many performances by the children involved in the project, including original songs composed by the children, covers of chart songs and more.
