More funding success for the Hive in Shrewsbury

The Hive, a registered charity and a town centre arts & creative venue has been successful in securing £48,555 from Arts Council England through their ‘Grants for the Arts’ funding scheme.  

The fund will help the Hive to develop its artistic programming and engage with new audiences.

County regiment to be granted Freedom of Shrewsbury

Shropshire’s county regiment, The Rifles, will be granted the Freedom of Shrewsbury by the town’s Mayor next week.

Councillor Ioan Jones will welcome The Rifles on Wednesday with a service at St Chad’s Church at 1pm.

A fascinating free exhibition bringing to life the stories behind Shropshire’s varied place names is now on show at Shropshire Archives on Castle Gates in Shrewsbury.

New machines, barriers and number plate recognition at Raven Meadows multi-storey car park in Shrewsbury

New payment machines, barriers and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) have been introduced in Raven Meadows multi-storey car park in Shrewsbury town centre to improve the service offered to visitors.

The new equipment integrates vehicle sensors, number plate cameras and technology in barriers on entry and exit points.

Town Councillors Support Flaxmill Development

Shrewsbury Town Councillors have supported an application for the development of the town’s historic Flaxmill, whilst also calling on planning chiefs to give further consideration to the impact of the scheme on nearby residents.
