Construction company win coracle cup

Staff from a Shropshire building company have been presented with a trophy as champion charity fund raisers.

The cup has been handed over to Galliers Homes of Shrewsbury from Macmillan Cancer Support, who organise the annual coracle world championship race in Shrewsbury.

Prison Sentence Extended for Jailhouse Tours

Jailhouse Tours took over the Dana Prison in August 2015, initially on a 12-month agreement to operate tours and events, which was later extended to the end of 2016.

Shrewsbury’s Christmas carol is noteworthy winner for festive video

A former science teacher who writes poetry as a hobby has hit on a winning formula with her Shrewsbury themed Christmas carol chosen to star in Shrewsbury’s annual Christmas video.

Claire Bryers, a 31-year-old mother of three from Copthorne in Shrewsbury, won the competition organised by Shrewsbury BID to create locally-themed lyrics to the seasonal classic, Silent Night.
