New manager at revamped retailer

A new manager has been appointed at a Shrewsbury business which recently re-opened after a £50,000 investment programme.

Nick Whittal joins Write Here in the town’s High Street, now one of the largest independent pen shops in the country.

Having studied languages and linguistics at the University of Southampton, Nick taught languages briefly before spending 12 years in the wine trade, with award-winning wine merchant Tanners Wines.

“Ever since moving to Shrewsbury a decade ago I have been a loyal customer of Write Here and have always appreciated its independent ethos,” said Nick, who is married with a son.

“It’s a fantastic shop showcasing a vast range of excellent quality pens, art materials, stationery and cards, coupled with outstanding customer service to deliver a great shopping experience, both online or in store.

“It is vital that we all enjoy and support our local independent retailers, especially on the High Street, and I am delighted to be joining the team here and moving the business forward into a new era.”

Closed for more than a month while a major refit was carried out, Write Here has been given more display space, a clean and bright new appearance and easier access for customers.
