Shrewsbury is open during flooding

Despite the heavy flooding in Shrewsbury, many of the town centre businesses remain open. Flood levels are beginning to recede, however many of the town's roads and car parks remain closed until further notice, with travel within the river loop severely affected.

Shrewsbury's Park and Ride services continue to run as normal. However, due to limited access to the town centre, the services will terminate and pick up at Theatre Severn, Abbey Foregate car park and New Park Road. Updates will be given via the Shropshire Council Newsroom.

At this time, all Shrewsbury busses continue to run with limited stops, for the latest information and updates please follow the Arriva Midlands West Twitter page.

Trains entering and leaving Shrewsbury station have been affected, with many rail replacements services in use. Please use Journey Check before beginning your journey.

West Merica Police would like to reiterate that if you are visiting Shrewsbury please stay safe; take your time, adhere to road closures and diversions and do not enter flood water.
