Please note: This event has now sold out

This talk is part of SCS Exhibition in Bear Steps Great Hall 'Young Darwin and Shrewsbury' 7-29 February 2020.

Dr Pattison is a retired Shrewsbury GP who has become a local historian (he has an MPhil from Birmingham University). Whilst researching for his thesis on the ironmaster William Hazledine he kept ‘coming across’ Dr Robert Darwin, Charles’ father and realised that this was an area asking for more research. The outcome of this was his book The Darwins of Shrewsbury. This talk will shed light on the Darwin family, placing them in their local and historical context.

In 1809 The Darwins were an important part of the life in Shrewsbury.

Robert Darwin; Charles Darwin's father was a local Dr and much more.
