Heritage Open Days - Shropshire Theatre Organ Trust Wurlitzer

The Shropshire Theatre Organ Trust will be hosting the Heritage Open Day event at The Buttermarket in Shrewsbury, a grade 2 listed building and former Butter Market.

We will have organists on hand playing our 1936 Mighty Wurlitzer theatre organ ex Ritz Cinema, Chatham, Kent, which is the only one you can hear in a public venue in Shropshire and looks particularly spectacular with its rare illuminated glass surround.

There will be an opportunity to sit at the organ console and take your own photos and even try it out for yourself!

In small numbers, people will have the opportunity to look round the organ chambers which house all the organ pipes and workings.

We will have people on hand to explain the history of the Trust, Wurlitzer and building and there will be displays and promotional material available as well as a tombola and sales table.

A fantastic opportunity to see behind the scenes: a part of our heritage.
