Pride Month at The Old Market Hall


Pride month is coming to The Old Market Hall!

We're celebrating by screening 5 wonderful films, including documentaries and features,

Starting Sunday September 22nd then continuing into October, the films will be shown every sunday night at 7pm.

September 22nd – Are you Proud? (15). The history of the LGBTQ+ movement in the fifty years since the Stonewall Riots. Reflecting upon prominent issues within the LGBTQ+ community like AIDs and hate crimes, the film also shows how the movement has supported people from all walks of life.

October 6th– Tell it to the Bees (15). In 1952 Dr. Jean Markham returns to her Scottish hometown to take over her late father's medical practice. She soon becomes ostracized by the community when she begins a passionate romance with a woman who has a young son.

October 13th – Transmilitary (15). At a time when transgender people are banned from serving in the U.S. military, four of the thousands of transgender troops risking discharge fight to attain the freedom they so fiercely protect.

October 20th – Jonathan Agassi Saves (18). One of the world's most successful gay porn stars provides a glimpse into his life. Splitting his time between Berlin and at home with his mother in Israel, Jonathan is followed closely as he comes to terms with the extreme life he is living.

October 27th – The Shiny Shrimps (15). After making homophobic remarks, Mathias Le Goff, vice-world swimming champion, is sentenced to coach The Pailletées Shrimp, a gay water polo team, more motivated by the party than by the competition.
