Hop On Board the Shrewsbury Night Bus This Christmas
Discover Shrewsbury’s new Night Bus trial, launching on the 24th of November and running Monday–Saturday until midnight until Christmas, with free travel for all during launch week.
Shrewsbury has something new (and very welcome) to light up its evenings: the Night Bus trial, launching on 24 November and running until 23 December.
Thanks to a partnership between The Big Town Plan Partnership and Arriva, our town centre now offers an additional safe, affordable way to get home after dark - ideal for the festive season.
Key Details
- Runs Monday to Saturday until midnight on routes N11, N25 and N27, covering all their usual stops.
- Free travel for the first week from 24th November!
- After the first week:
- £2 for adults
- £1 for under-16s
- A group ticket (up to 5 people) costs £5
- Concessionary pass holders ride for free, and weekly or monthly Arriva bus passes are valid.
Why the Night Bus Matters
- It helps boost Shrewsbury’s evening economy - encouraging people to stay out, enjoy the bars, restaurants, and shops, without worrying about getting home.
- It also makes the town safer, reducing the number of people walking home late along riverside paths.
- It gives hospitality staff, evening workers, and visitors a dependable way home after late shifts or nights out.
How You Can Help Make It Permanent
This is a trial: the more people use it from the 24th of November until the 23rd of December, the stronger the case for a long-term service.
You can help make it permanent by:
- Riding the bus!
- Talking about it: with friends, colleagues, or on social media.
- Giving feedback: your voice matters - let local councillors, your MP or Shrewsbury BID know you've used it and want to see it become permanent!
