Shrewsbury's Porthill River Shuttle

A new ferry service will be running daily throughout the scheduled closure of Porthill Bridge.

From November 21st to December 9th, during the scheduled closure of Porthill Bridge, Sabrina Boat and The Boathouse, supported by Shrewsbury BID and part funded by Shropshire Council, will be running a River Shuttle across the Severn to help you get where you need to be.

The shuttle will cross between The Boathouse and the Quarry pontoon on the opposite bank, running daily 8am-6pm.

Crossing time is approximately 3 minutes.

Day return £1

Family day return £2.50, for two adults and two children

Weekly return £5, this allows you unlimited trips for one week

Under 3s ride for free

No unaccompanied under 16s

Payment is cash only.

Access

The boat can seat 8, buggies and dogs can board but may reduce the capacity.

The shuttle will cross between The Boathouse and the Quarry pontoon opposite Evolution Coffee, as access to the boat is via steps it isn't suitable for those with mobility issues or in a wheelchair.

Are we sailing today?

NO - The River Shuttle is no longer sailing due to the reopening of Porthill Bridge.

The Porthill River shuttle runs daily, 8am-6pm.

The average height of the River Severn over the last seven days was 1.03m. If the river exceeds 1.4m the boat will be unable to sail and the service suspended.
