The Darwin Shrewsbury Trail

Shrewsbury boasts many buildings and locations that were the backdrop to many pivotal moments in Darwin’s early life. His story is written on the walls and cobbled streets of Shrewsbury.

These same streets would be familiar to him today and walking through the narrow shuts and passages, past timber-framed shops and Georgian terraces, one could easily imagine the young boy hurrying to class from his family home across the River Severn.
