A space for everyone
A building reimagined for music, art and community.
For over 90 years, this Grade II listed 'Arts & Crafts' hall has stood within the river loop of the town. Today, it's a working creative space, a home for music and comedy concerts, art exhibitions, community theatre, choirs, weddings, and the small gatherings that bring communities together.
We host a wide range of events each year, and we welcome new ideas. Whether you're booking a ticket, hiring the room, or proposing your own event, we look forward to helping you make it a reality.
The Hall
Morris Hall is available to hire for a wide range of events and activities from yoga classes and workshops to talks, lectures, meetings and public performances. We always encourage anyone considering hiring the Hall to come and see it first, in order to make the most of their proposed booking.
Currently up to 115 seated capacity. The space includes a 'plug and play' high specification PA and stage lighting system which can be hired with our resident sound and lighting engineer.

- Is this venue accessible for wheelchair users?
There are 16 steps ( 2 sets of 8 with mid landing area) from street to external area level and a further 2 steps at the entrance threshold. Therefore the venue is unsuitable for permanent wheel chair users.
There is a strong handrail to either side of the steps and grab handles either side of the main doorway and once inside the Hall is on one level throughout.
There is a disabled toilet off the main hallway.
- Is there a hearing loop in the building?
No, there is no hearing loop installed in the building.
- Is there parking nearby?
The road outside the archway leading to Morris Hall has a number of loading bays which are ideal for drop-offs and loading/unloading.
There are 3 'Pay and Display' car parks adjacent to Bellstone and Barker Street. Parking is generally free after 6pm. Check at ticket machine for up to date information.
