Join the founder of the Shrewsbury Darwin Festival to mark the birthday of the town's most famous son. Followed by a guided walk.
Charles Darwin returned to his family home in Shrewsbury after the voyage of HMS Beagle. The town is much more than his birthplace and the surrounding countryside, and his early experiences helped shape a keen amateur naturalist into a world-class scientist. The town has changed little since his childhood, and many surviving buildings help to tell the story of his transformation.
Birthday Toast: Free to attend (bring a tipple if you wish)
Guided Walk: £14.25 adults, £6.50 3-15 yrs
