The Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay comes to Shrewsbury!

Birmingham 2022 is staging the 16th official Queen's Baton Relay ahead of the Commonwealth Games this summer. It's an epic journey across the Commonwealth, visiting all 72 nations and territories - and the Baton is coming to Shrewsbury on July 18th!

Join us as we celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event with a processing through Shrewsbury town center, and an evening of FREE celebration in The Quarry.

Follow the baton's route

The Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton will arrive via helicopter at Shrewsbury Sports Village, after a lap of the track it will then be driven to Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings.

The baton will leave Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings at 5.20pm and arrive at Shrewsbury Castle at 5.30pm where it will be met by a private Civic Welcome.

At 5.45pm the baton will leave the castle, weaving its way through town to Victoria Quay. Here it will sail down the Severn on The Sabrina Boat and a boat from Pengwern Boat Club, before finally arriving in The Quarry at 6.30pm for a spectacular evening of celebrations.
