Christmas in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury comes alive at Christmas, with plenty of places to capture Christmas cheer. Indulge in mince pies and mulled wine, pick up perfect presents or celebrate the party season.

The Original Shrewsbury Christmas Experience

This year, celebrate Christmas beneath Shrewsbury's Old Market Hall at the Original Shrewsbury Christmas Experience.

Bask in the light of Shrewsbury's sparkling Christmas tree whilst children post their letters to Father Christmas in our Christmas post box, which has a direct line to the North Pole.

Pick up your letter to Father Christmas from the Visitor Information Centre and town centre businesses, or download your template letter for Father Christmas here.

Father Christmas is very busy getting ready for Christmas Eve, if you would like a response to your letters please make sure to post them before Thursday December 17th.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation a number of Shrewsbury's autumn and winter events have been cancelled, including the Christmas Lights switch on, Carols in the Square and the annual panto.
Whilst we endeavour to keep this page as up to date as possible, we would recommend checking with event organisers before attending.
