Visit Drapers Hall built 1575 - see the original furniture - listen to the talk on the history of the Shrewsbury Wool Merchants and their Hall.

Decorated in the style of the Shrewsbury School of carpentry this timber frame building dates from the last quarter of the sixteenth century. and has been the headquarters of the Shrewsbury Drapers Company for over 400 years. In addition to the Hall, the furniture within was built for the Company by local craftsmen and comprises tables, chairs, benches and a deed chest. There are also later paintings and a hatchment dated 1625.

Complete with oak panelling and flooring and quarry tiles on the ground floor the building creates an atmosphere of life in the Tudor and Stuart periods.

The talk on the history of the company will be given by Nigel J Hinton a past master of the Company and author of some of the history.- The Shrewsbury Drapers Company 1462-2017.
