Evening alfresco dining

Whilst we wait for indoor hospitality to reopen on May 17, you can continue to enjoy mouth-watering food from your favourite Shrewsbury eateries whilst taking in the scenery with our evening al fresco dining guide.

The Crown at Coleham - With beautiful riverside views (see above), The Crown at Coleham is open daily until 10pm. With an extensive outdoor dining area, you'll stay cosy even in the coldest spring weather with a heated marquee, blankets, and hot water bottles!

The Alb - Located on Shrewsbury’s Smithfield Road, The Alb is open 7 evenings a week, closing a 9pm Mon-Thur and 11p Fri-Sun. The Alb offers a number of promotions throughout the week, including happy hour every weeknight, Wednesday Date Night, Tapas Thursday and 2 4 1 Sunday.

The Riverbank - With beautiful riverside views, The Riverbank is open daily until 10pm for hearty Mediterranean cuisine.

Cromwell's Inn - Located on historic Dog Pole, Cromwell’s Inn boasts a beautiful garden overlooking Shrewsbury’s town centre roofscape.

The Vaults - With a unique roof garden overlooked by Shrewsbury’s 11th-century Castle, The Vaults is open daily until 8pm. Opening is dependant on weather conditions, please check their Facebook page for daily updates.

Ashely's Wine Bar - Located on Shrewsbury's Shoplatch, Ashley's Wine Bar is open Fridays - Sundays for drinks, food will resume on May 17.

House of the Rising Sun - Located on Shrewsbury's historic Butcher Row, House of the Rising Sun is open Sun-Thur until 11.30pm and Fri-Sat until 12.30am.

The Old Post Office - With a quiet courtyard (see above), traditional English pub The Old Post Office is open daily until 10pm.

The Nag's Head - One of Shrewsbury's most historic pubs, The Nag's Head boasts an extensive beer garden which is open Sun - Thur 12pm, Fri & Sat 1am.

The Wheatsheaf - Overlooking Shrewsbury's High Street, The Wheatsheaf is open Sundays - Thursdays until 11pm.

The Buttermarket - Located in an iconic Garde II listed building, The Buttermarket's outdoor area is open every weekend until 1am.

The Peach Tree, Havana Respiblic & Momo's - With curbside dining overlooking Shrewsbury Abbey, The Peach Tree, Havana Republic and Momo's have launched a new outside dining menu of light bites, nibbles and platters.

Ernest & Co - The Lion + Pheasant Hotel's sister eatery Ernest & Co is open Thursday - Saturday until 11pm for food and drinks in their quaint courtyard.

The Bull Inn - Offering curbside dining and a private beer garden, The Bull Inn (see above) is open daily, closing Sun, Mon, Tue & Thur at 11pm and Wed, Fri & Sat at midnight.

The Armoury - With beautiful riverside views The Armoury is open daily, closing Sun – Thur 11.30pm and Fri-Sat midnight. As outdoor seating is limited booking is recommended.

Ten & Six - With an outdoor garden located in a quiet little courtyard on Hills Lane, Ten & Six are taking table reservations Wed, Thu & Sun until 7pm, Fri & Sat 8.30pm.

La Piazetta - Overlooking Shrewsbury’s town square, La Piazzetta is one of Shrewsbury’s newsest additions, and is open daily until 10pm.

The Shrewsbury Hotel - With a large marquee overlooking Welsh Bridge and the River Severn, The Shrewsbury Hotel is open daily until midnight.

Hickory's Smokehouse - Located on Victoria Quay, Hickory's Smokehouse is open daily until 11pm, Sundays 10pm, for mouthwatering deep south cuisine.
