Shrewsbury jeweller featured in leading industry magazine
Based out of a Grade II-listed building in the heart of Shrewsbury, master goldsmith Kirt Parekh spoke to Retail Jeweller at the end of 2023 about the generational expertise behind his business. Kirt’s father, Jagdish, trained in goldsmithing under his own father and set up a workshop in the UK in 1977.
Following in the footsteps of the previous two generations, Kirt studied at Birmingham School of Jewellery and later honed his skills working in the city’s historic Jewellery Quarter, before opening his shop doors on Shrewsbury’s creative independent retail scene. He’s now training his own son, Ushan.
"We are going back to traditional handmade jewellery and hand engraving at a time when the industry is becoming reliant on technologies such as CAD and 3D printing, losing the artisan human touch that today’s clients long for," Kirt Parekh, Retail Jeweller.
The store is renowned for its bespoke handcrafted jewellery, including exquisite hand-engraved family crest signet rings and stunning diamond engagement pieces.
Sires Master Goldsmiths' feature in Retail Jeweller is not just a triumph for the store but also a testament to the vibrant and creative independent retail scene of Shrewsbury. It is a clear indication that our town is home to businesses that are not only thriving locally but also gaining well-deserved recognition on national platforms!
