Shop Shrewsbury, Win Prizes: Help Us Celebrate Our Town This July!

This month, we're celebrating Shrewsbury's brilliant shopping scene with Shop Shrewsbury, running from 1st to 31st July - and we want you to be part of it.
Wyle cop busy

From chic independent boutiques to family-run faves, our town centre is full of businesses worth getting to know. Shop Shrewsbury is your excuse to do exactly that - explore somewhere new, treat yourself to something special, and get rewarded for it along the way.

Here's how it works:

  • Pick up a free sticker book from the Museum or any participating business
  • Spend £10 or more in a participating shop and collect a sticker and signature
  • Collect 5 stickers before 31st July to enter the prize draw
  • Send us a photo of your completed book for your entry
  • Get the full lowdown here

There's a top prize of £250 to spend locally, plus a haul of other prizes from Shrewsbury businesses, including vouchers, a skincare experience, a prison tour for the family, and more.

Shrewsbury deserves some love

Forget the doom and gloom headlines about the death of the high street - Shrewsbury isn't buying it.

Literally.

Last year, our spend data showed that 51% of customer spending in Shrewsbury goes to independent businesses, more than double the UK average of 29%. More than 20 new independents opened their doors in the town centre in a single year. We're lucky to be able to say our streets are buzzing - and that's not the same everywhere.

Fathers Day

Walk down Wyle Cop, the High Street, or any other street in the town centre, or pop into the Market Hall, and you'll see it for yourself - shops with character, owners who know their audience, products picked with genuine care and passion, coffee served by people who know coffee, shops staffed by two or three generations of the same family.

You'll see shoppers, too - not just locals, but visitors who come to Shrewsbury specifically to shop on Britain's Best High Street.

That success doesn't happen by accident, and it isn't effortless. Our town centre businesses deal with the same rising costs as the rest of us - energy bills, supplier prices, the squeeze of the cost of living - while absorbing as much of that pressure as they can to keep prices fair for their customers.

Every pound spent locally helps them keep doing exactly that, and keeps our town wonderful.

Make it count

Every sticker is a thanks for spending your money somewhere that invests it back into your town, not into a warehouse hundreds of miles away. So grab a sticker book, explore somewhere new, and show your high street some love.
