Nerdy
49 Mardol, Shrewsbury, SY1 1PP
Information
Nerdy is a board game café and events venue in Shrewsbury town centre.
An alcohol-free, family-friendly, fully inclusive environment that offers an extensive library of board games, private hire spaces, an exciting and delicious food menu and, of course, superb coffee.
We have a growing games library of around 1000 games in our board game zone. We can’t guarantee that we’ll have the game you want available when you arrive, but we can do our best to put a game to one side for you if you mention it if you contact us before you visit.
We are now also proud to offer a new experience at Nerdy with our amazing new video game wall. With comfy bean bags, 4 huge TVs and a range of Switch, Xbox Series X and PS5 games available to play we can now say Nerdy is celebrating all gaming both analog and digital!
We love events at Nerdy and hold a huge range of them to support many exciting and diverse communities, and are proud to count the Shrewsbury LGBTQ+ community amongst them. So whether you’re looking for one of the biggest LGBT nights in town, a friendly wargaming social, our immersive Blood on the Clocktower evenings or even an open mic night, we’ve got you covered.
We love dogs at Nerdy, and we actually have a special dog zone! If you’re visiting with a dog, you’ll be seated near the bar area. Dogs aren’t able to venture into any of the other zones, but owners may get games from the board game zone and bring them to their tables!
Our accessible, award-winning, fully enclosed gender-free toilets are located on the ground floor and wheelchair access is available through our side door. The staff team will be more than happy to help with any access needs you might have. They all have baby changing facilities and we always provide a range of sanitary and baby products free of charge. Our accessible toilet has a full bariatric hoist and changing bed with two sinks and plenty of space.
