About this event

Part of the Soldiers of Shropshire Friends’ Talks 2025. These popular monthly talks are open to everyone and cover a range of topics.

February's talk will focus on Auntie Emmie’s Suitcase: A Wartime Service Life Unpacked and will be delivered by Sue Davies.

Sue is a proud Salopian, born and raised in Shrewsbury.

Sue attended the Priory Girls’ Grammar School before joining the Civil Service for a few years and then changing to Local Government. However, her main career, and the work she enjoyed most, was the 30 years spent in the Probation Service including 3 years in prison!

Retirement has enabled her to indulge in a variety of interests and hobbies from volunteering with Age UK, learning to paint in watercolours, gardening, going to the theatre and assisting a Canine Behaviourist with problem dogs (and owners). Sue is also a member of the Unitarian Church.
