Reclaiming Voice through Shropshire Folklore: Writing Workshop
17A, Swan Hill, Shrewsbury, SY1 1NL, Shropshire, England, United Kingdom

About this event
Shropshire is a land of quiet power where stories live in the roots of ancient trees and healing springs remember our names.
This workshop honours that magic using local folklore as a gentle guide for therapeutic writing and emotional restoration. Together, we’ll explore a traditional Shropshire folktale as a soft container, a safe spacious gateway for guided writing and inner exploration. Through narrative therapy tools, creative exercises, and a deeply trauma-informed approach, we’ll begin to uncover memory, reclaim voice, and re-author the stories we carry. This session supports both mental health and creativity in a grounded, accessible way.
You don’t need any writing experience only a willingness to listen: to your inner voice, and to the land around you. Led by writer and narrative therapy practitioner Jessica Shelley, this is a space of warmth, stillness, and belonging. A place where folklore becomes medicine, and storytelling becomes transformation. Whether you're here for emotional healing or artistic exploration, there’s a place for you here.
