Rooted in Recovery Exhibition

Art, nature and lived experience come together in this exhibition exploring recovery, resilience and connection.

This exhibition showcases artwork created through a nature-based art psychotherapy programme delivered by an NHS Early Intervention in Psychosis Service. Beginning as a pilot project with Small Woods and later developing into a woodland-based group at Haughmond Hill in partnership with Forestry England, the programme brings together creativity, psychotherapy and time spent in nature.

Created through artistic exploration and reflection in woodland settings, the artworks reflect personal journeys of healing, resilience and reconnection following experiences of psychosis and trauma. Through painting, drawing, sculpture and other creative processes, participants share experiences that can be difficult to express through words alone.

Rooted in Recovery invites visitors to consider how nature and creativity can support wellbeing, reflection and a sense of belonging, while offering powerful insights into lived experience and helping to challenge stigma surrounding mental health.
