Roman jewellery talk

About this event

An evening talk about personal adornment and grooming in the prehistory and Roman periods.

Throughout history and prehistory, people have expressed their personal identities and group allegiances through decorating the body, using paint, makeup, body modifications and jewellery.

This talk explores personal ornament and display through small items of belongings often found by archaeologists and metal-detectorists.
