About this event

The River Severn in Shrewsbury will be filled with thrills and spills as the Coracle World Championships returns this September!

The event will see teams of four paddle a traditional coracle boat in a relay race across the river, with the winners being crowned world champions.

Coracles were originally designed for fishing in Wales and other countries - and for years were used for retrieving footballs kicked out of the old Gay Meadow football ground and into the River Severn!
