The Shrewsbury Hotel
Bridge Place, Shrewsbury, SY1 1PU

Information
The Shrewsbury Hotel is located opposite the Welsh Bridge and River Severn. It is a J D Wetherspoon hotel, offering superb quality, choice and value, in food, drink and accommodation.
An inn called The Welsh Harp is thought to have stood on this site in the 17th century. By 1820, it had become The Britannia; in the 1960s, it changed its name for the last time to The Shrewsbury Hotel. In 1685, the site of The Welsh Harp is recorded as Mardol, now Bridge Place. The Welsh Harp is mentioned again in 1786 and 1804 as the starting point for ‘stage waggons for Welshpool’.
The hotel has 22 individual bedrooms, many with a river view. All rooms are en-suite and include hot drink-making facilities, a hair dryer and a television. Free Wi-Fi is available in the bar.
There is free on-site parking for guests who are staying overnight, subject to availability.
