About this event
Eve Goodman, North Wales, writes in both English and Welsh. Using music to transcribe and transmute her emotions, Eve combines honest lyricism with mesmerising musical hooks and patterns. Each song is delivered with a captivating presence and clarity; from the crystalline sonics of her vocals to the clarion beauty of her words. Inspired by nature and the more-than-human world, her songs connect deeply to our inner and outer landscapes.
“Her rich voice flows like deep water” Songlines
“Shamanic and crystalline” Adam Walton BBC Wales
“Eve Goodman possesses a rare magic” From The Margins
Toronto-based folk duo Basset are full of timeless heart, with deeply human lyrics and stunning duo harmonies reminiscent of the early folk revival. Yasmine Shelton has one of those instantly recognisable voices that can dive, dip and soar all in a single phrase, while Sam Clark brings nuanced and tasteful support on guitar and other acoustic instruments.
"If you’re a lover of like great close harmonies, like Simon and Garfunkel, or Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, I think you’re going to love this." Q with Tom Power, CBC Radio
"Vocal harmonies and acoustic melodies that would soothe any weary traveler... It was pure joy" Sonja Nelson, No Depression
"A really impressive début album." International Americana Music Show
