Discovering Darwin – Friday 6 Feb 2026

Who is Charles Darwin and why are we so proud of him in Shrewsbury?

Why do we see him as such a significant individual?

This workshop will give children a deeper understanding of who Darwin was, his background and those around him. They will come face to face with portraits of Darwin’s family, discover exotic taxidermy and consider the way people lived over 200 years ago here in Shrewsbury. The children will classify some of their own specimens which will help them to understand the key terms adaption and extinction.
