Visit Father Christmas at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery 2025
The festive magic has arrived Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, where Father Christmas will be visiting Shrewsbury to meet families in his traditional museum workshop. The elves will meet you and your family, guide you along the flagstones, through the archway to begin your climb up the original sweeping staircase*.

Children are welcome to post a letter to Father Christmas** look out for his post box on your journey. A cheerful Elf will guide you to a wonderous workshop, crammed full of history and magic to meet Father Christmas himself! Tell him your Christmas dreams and wishes and receive an early gift.

Keep the magic alive by exploring fascinating galleries and browse thoughtful and indulgent gifts, books, and pocket-money treats in the museum gift shop.

Our cosy Museum Cafe is open daily, offering a modern, relaxed place to enjoy the festive atmosphere, extend your visit or simply relax with family before you meet Father Christmas.

Tickets cost £15 per child aged 1 - 17 years old. (No charge for under ones), and £5 per accompanying Adult. Various times available through the booking link below. Maximum 6 people per time slot.
Early booking strongly recommended for our limited time-slots.

* This event is fully accessible, please get in touch with assistance requirements when you book, or on arrival, and the Elves will guide you to the lift access to visit Father Christmas' Workshop.

VISITOR REVIEWWe visited today and have to say, it’s the best Father Christmas we have ever seen, the elves were fantastic especially Gingerbread who went more than the extra mile to make the visit magical, Father Christmas was dressed in traditional ‘Victorian' style robes, and made a real effort with our girls, they gave plenty of time to us and we were allowed to take lots of photos, if you want a magical Christmas experience, this is definitely the place to visit!
