Mini Mammoths runs every Thursday during term time

Join us for Mini Mammoths, our Thursday weekly sessions designed to help little ones explore the museum in a fun, relaxed and meaningful way.

Led by an Early Years teacher, each session introduces young children to the museum through singing, stories, craft and hands on handling opportunities. Children are encouraged to be curious, playful and confident as they discover real objects and the museum spaces at their own pace.

Sessions are carefully planned to align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting early communication, physical development, creativity, and understanding of the world through sensory and child led learning.

Mini Mammoths offers a gentle first step into museum learning — where curiosity is celebrated and learning happens through play.

For grown-up there’s tea, coffee and friendly chat too.
