Pub Money by Louis Wootton-Davies

‘Pub Money’ is the debut solo exhibition by Louis Wootton-Davies - an artist originally from Shrewsbury, now based in Bristol.

Painter Louis, with his distinctive style and focus on working-class history and culture, has a huge following on socials -143k on Instagram as well as 60k on TikTok with 4.4 million likes.

Now, he's holding his debut solo show to The Soden Collection on Wyle Cop.

The entire show is rooted in Shrewsbury’s working-class history, with every painting referencing real local places and old family photographs taken by Louis’s grandfather, who ran the scrapyard on Old Potts Way (now the site of Cineworld).

Louis’s paintings reflect the lived experience of working-class life in Shrewsbury - some buildings no longer exist, others are hidden in plain sight - but all tell a story of the town’s past and present.
