Shrewsbury Pride are delighted to feature two artists who have worked with us since the beginning! 

YEARS OF QUEERS – by Ming De Nasty

For this exhibition Ming has dipped into their archive and is showing a selection of queer portraits from the past four decades, 1980s to present day. Years of Queers will also include a selection of portraits they made at the last two Shrewsbury Prides pop up portrait studio.  Ming will be ‘popping up’ again at this year’s Shrewsbury Pride on Saturday 27th September 2025 and you are welcome to come and have your picture taken to add to the collection!

 Death Before Detransition – by Bee McPhillips

When the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom decided to legislate over our lives- Bee responded, but not how you would expect.

 Instead of anger, or sadness, she put her rage into Death Before Detransition- her unwavering and often times indescribable project documenting her communities response to legislation born from hate. Seeing the divide once again growing, she set out, camera in one hand, flag on her back and Leathers wrapped around her to document our response.

 And document she did- after 18 protests across three countries, organising 12 of them, standing side by side with her community and experiencing everything from assault, to hate crimes, to standing in a skirt outside of the Tate Modern museum protesting she collated the images to reflect the story of our time.  This exhibition is the result.
