Galliers announce backing for Bookfest

Galliers Homes has stepped forward to take the position of headline sponsor of Shrewsbury Bookfest, the town’s annual children’s literary festival.

Danielle Goffe-Wood, marketing manager at Galliers Homes said that the firm was pleased to be able to announce the partnership.

“As a company Galliers is very proud of its links to Shrewsbury and is keen to get involved in community events, charities and activities – our sponsorship of Bookfest is an ideal opportunity for us to support one of the town's great festivals."

Joanna Hughes, co-ordinator of Shrewsbury Bookfest added: “We are extremely grateful to Galliers Homes and absolutely delighted that they have come forward as Bookfest’s headline sponsor; it is a huge endorsement of our work and the strength of our festival programme this year. “

Some of the biggest names in the world of children’s books are taking part in this year’s festival, which will take place in venues across the town from Friday 29th April to Monday 2nd May.

Jacqueline Wilson is set to get the event off to a flying start on Friday 29th April. Over the rest of the weekend, children and families will have the chance to meet other top authors including Lauren Child, Frank Cottrell Boyce, John Hegley, Cathy Cassidy and Julian Clary, who will be introducing his new series of children’s books with award-winning illustrator David Roberts.

Other attractions include Shaun the Sheep modelling workshops and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid show.

Tickets for these events and many more will be on sale to the public from Saturday 5th March from Shrewsbury Bookfest’s website.
