Dave Mellor Cycles, 9, New Street, Shrewsbury, SY3 8JG
Information
Dave Mellor Cycles is a Shrewsbury family business started in 1985 by Great Britain Olympic Cycling Team Manager, Dave Mellor and Great Britain International, cycling star Melanie Grivell.
The shop located in the "Little Boro" of Frankwell, Shrewsbury, has gradually expanded to become one of the largest independent cycle businesses in the United Kingdom.
With Melanie long retired and Dave working less, 2024 saw a new era with ex professional rider Erick Rowsell taking over day to day management. Erick employs new management tools, a cloud based workshop diary, a state of the art ID Match bike fit studio with Darren Ellis (International Bikefit Qualified) and a new website.
The shop ethos remains the same as it has for the last 40 years. A strong supporter of the local cycling community, clubs, events and social rides. The shop provides bikes, clothing and equipment from the smallest of balance bikes to models fit to grace an Olympic or Tour de France champion. You will be amazed at the sheer depth and quality of products in store.
All of the staff ride bikes. Some race, some not and some just for the commute. Whatever your particular cycling experience, DMC has someone just like you to assist, swap experiences and hopefully improve your cycling journey.
