Philpotts
2 Abbots House, Butcher Row, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UW

Information
Philpotts is an award-winning sandwich retailer, situated in the beautiful 15th-century Abbotts House in Butcher Row.
The business was founded in 1985 in Chester and it became the most respected sandwich company in the country with a number of shops in major cities nationwide. The business was sold in 2006 but the Shrewsbury shop was retained by the founder until 2017 when it was purchased by Alan Lancaster, a qualified chef with over 25 years’ of experience in the trade.
Customers can walk into the shop and choose from a fabulous array of sandwiches, or place a phone order in advance and have one or more delightful platters specially made up for a group of friends or colleagues.
Philpotts Shrewsbury enjoys a unique reputation for offering exotic and unusual breads and stunningly delicious ingredients. The team of enthusiastic staff is always happy to help.
All our sandwiches and salads are made to order, to your liking right before you. We choose not to sell pre-packed sandwiches. We believe a ready-made sandwich is never as good as one made to order. We are proud to serve the best ingredients using local bakeries and suppliers as much as possible. Philpotts only use condiments and relishes from the best makers and we prepare all our sandwich fillings fresh every day.
