Eat Street Shrewsbury, things to do in Shropshire, street food

Eat Street preparation underway for Friday

With the Bank Holiday Weekend on our doorstep, preparation is underway for Shrewsbury's first ever Street Food Event launched by Shropshire's favourite celebrity chef Marcus Bean. Marcus was joined by Brian from Eat Up, Ian from Barkworths Seafoods, Duncan and Nok from Nok's Gril Thai BBQ to fine-tune last minute preparations for the big event on Friday.

Eat Street Shrewsbury will take place in the grounds of St Alkmund's Church off Butcher Row in Shrewsbury on Friday 22nd May from 4pm to 10pm and entry will be free of charge.

The event promises to be a unique new food event, bringing together fresh, original food experiences and a festival atmosphere to the twisting Tudor streets of Shrewsbury.

With his contacts in the food and entertainment world Marcus has managed to secure some of the best names in street food including seasoned street food favourites; The Beefy Boys from Hereford and London-based Dog Town London. Lined up alongside will be Shrewsbury's Barkworths Seafoods, Eat Up's big coffee van and the Pizza Peddlers.

Tastes include wood fired pizza, hot dogs topped with chilli cheese, American burgers by the second best burger team in the world, fishy delights from Barkworths Shrewsbury Saint-Pierre stand, ice-cream served from a vintage VW ice cream van called Florence and some amazing vegetarian and vegan spiced food from the fabulous Kus Kus foods, Nok Noi Thai BBQ and more!
