Meet The Team
Anthony Wood,
Founder
Anthony Wood, FRICS, FNAEA, MARLA has been in the Estate Agency business almost all his working life, hailing from a local family of auctioneers. In 1980, he took some three years out, during which he founded The Wood Brewery. He is on record as being the youngest person to gain his qualification within the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors! Together with Gareth Samuel, he formed Samuel Wood and Company in 1995.
Anthony is married to Julia, who also works within the Company. They have a son, Nicholas, who is also a Chartered Surveyor and daughter Rebecca, who has graduated and is working as a teacher. His hobbies include Field Sports, training Labradors, and his own dog recently became a Field Trials winner.
Gareth Samuel,
Founder
Gareth Samuel, FNAEA, founded Samuel Wood and Company with Anthony Wood in 1995 and has a longstanding connection with Estate Agency. He, like Anthony, was a former partner of Hall Wateridge and Owen.
Gareth is married to Jane, who also takes an active part in the Company, working alongside him in the Shrewsbury Office. Both Gareth and Jane can often be seen at the local Point-to-Points, being horse owners themselves. Gareth is also a keen golfer, being a member at Shrewsbury Golf Club and at Ludlow Golf Club too.
Russell Griffin,
Director
Russell Griffin, MNAEA, MARLA, from Shrewsbury is married with a young son and is an accomplished musician. He started his career in property 25 years ago, training in Shropshire and went on later to work in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, gaining valuable experience in the City’s property market. He is based predominantly in the agency’s Shrewsbury office.
Andrew Cadwallader
Andrew Cadwallader, MNAEA, MARLA, has recently married and has 20 years experience in the business and lives in North Herefordshire. Andrew trained with a well respected local company, before moving to Samuel Wood and Company over 10 years ago and now oversees South Shropshire, North Herefordshire and the Welsh Borders from the company’s Ludlow office. He is a keen sportsman, playing football for a local Sunday league side.
