The Hive needs your support to secure vital funding

Local charity organisation, the Hive in Shrewsbury which brings creative projects to people in challenging circumstances across Shropshire is calling for the support of the local community to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2017

The Hive is relying on votes to increase their chances of winning funding of up to £10,000 which they hope will allow them to run music projects with young people aged 11-18 living in challenging circumstances across Shropshire, giving them the opportunity to experience song-writing and music-making as a catalyst for self-expression. This project aims to work directly with 36 young people including young carers and Looked After Children and only projects with the most votes will become finalists, so additional support is vital.

Sal Hampson, Projects & Programmes Manager at the Hive Shrewsbury said "we really welcome this opportunity to galvanise local support for this very special charity which provides amazing - and potentially life-changing - experiences for young people.”

The project idea is a direct response to talking with young carers and Looked After Children who have taken part in other projects run by the Hive and asking them what experiences they would like to have and how these opportunities impact on their lives. Many of the young people asked said that these projects help them feel more confident, give them an opportunity to express their feelings and make them feel part of something important.
