Shrewsbury is coming together to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee this June bank holiday weekend! Enjoy all the best Shrewsbury has to offer, from live music to Late Night at The Market Hall and a Jubilee twist on half term events.

Win the chance to 'Live Like A Royal'

This June we're celebrating Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and giving you the chance to Live Like a Royal! Take a selfie on our royal thrones and tag us in your photos for the chance to win a night's stay at Darwin's Townhouse, dinner at Rhubarb at Drapers Hall, and £150 shopping vouchers! Find our royal thrones in The Square on Thursday 2nd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th, and St Alkmund's Church on Friday 3rd June. Terms and Conditions apply.

Free parking and a traffic free high street

Parts of Shrewsbury's town centre we be closed to traffic during the bank holiday weekend. Wyle Cop (uphill), High Street and Shoplatch will be closed to vehicles from 10am-4pm on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June. All town centre car parks will remain fully accessible during the closure, with additional disabled parking available on Castle Street, St Mary's Street, Dogpole, Roushill and Beeches Lane.

Don't forget - parking will be FREE in the Frankwell main and Abbey Foregate car parks on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th June.

Find an original event

We're celebrating the Jubilee with a weekend of live music and relaxation! Grab the family, some tempting treats from Shrewsbury's nearby businesses and kick back and relax on our beanbags and deckchairs whilst being serenaded by some of Shropshire's finest musicians. Find us in The Square on Thursday 2nd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th, and at St Alkmund's Church on Friday 3rd.

Bank holidays are made for relaxing with a cold drink in a quintessentially British beer garden. Discover which restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs offer alfresco dining with our handy guide. If you're in need of groceries or delicious treats for your Jubilee street party or bank holiday BBQs then look no further than Shrewsbury! From small supermarkets to one-off delis you can find them all here.

Shrewsbury's trusty delis and butchers are packed with local produce and meats - make sure to head to Barkworths, Shrewsbury's largest independent fishmongers, and Appleyards for all your delicious deli essentials. And Shrewsbury's award-winning Market Hall is a must visit for a mix of fresh and organic produce alongside award-winning artisan chocolates and drinks.
