Six things to do in Shrewsbury this May half term
The World of Peter Rabbit - Story Time Trail
Immerse yourself and your little ones in the world of Peter Rabbit at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery's new Story Time Trail exhibition. 'Little bunnies' will be able to crawl under the garden gate, hide in a watering can and see their reflection in a mirror pool, just like Peter Rabbit! With photo opportunities and activities to take part in along the way.
The Hive Street Festival '24
Join The Hive on bank holiday Monday for their 6th annual Street Festival - a day filled with family-friendly fun and activities to suit all ages, including live music, arts and crafts, light installations, stalls, face painting, games, circus skills, drumming, and family-friendly fun. This one's free to attend, too!
Shropshire County Agricultural Show
There's no better way to celebrate the start of summer than attending your local county show, and nobody does county shows better than Shropshire. While little ones enjoy fun, games and livestock to marvel at around the showground, adults can browse the shopping court, sample the goodies in the Taste of the Shires area, relax with a cuppa to the sounds of Bandstand music on the Village Green, or head to the food court for lunch.
Mighty Knights - Castle Half Term Trail
A group of Mighty Knights has hidden itself around Shrewsbury Castle Grounds! Visit this half term to see if you can track them all down. Purchase your trail cards from the Castle shop when you arrive and have fun spotting the different knights' poses as you find them! Enjoy the activity on the back of the card and when you've found all of the knights, pop back into the Castle shop to claim your reward.
Wednesday Wildlings
Aimed at 18 months - 5 year olds, Shropshire Wildlife Trust's popular Wildlings sessions offer children the chance to become a wild child, engaging their senses and encouraging a love of wildlife within a safe environment. Building dens, jumping in puddles, hunting for mini-beasts and making mud pies is what Wildlings is all about!
A Film for the Family
From the 25th of May to the 1st of June, the Old Market Hall cinema will be showing Kung Fu Panda 4. Combine a beautiful town centre location and well-stocked cafe bar with the latest animated martial arts fun, and you've got the ideal way to pass an hour and a half over the holiday.
